    Blue Islands is restarting flights to Bristol from Monday 3 August. The service will operate four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays during August, becoming daily from September.

  • Experience the joy of Liberation Day 1945
    A new exhibition that gives people the opportunity to immerse themselves in the joyful experience of Liberation Day in 1945 opens at Jersey Museum & Art Gallery this week.
  • Children's Events with the National Trust
    This week sees the start of a range of summer activities for families with The National Trust for Jersey. Erin Cowham, the newest member of the team and Senior Education Officer for the Trust will be leading three events; Precious Pollinators, Super Seas and Waste-free-Wednesdays.
  • June Passenger Arrivals
    During June, the only flights that were operating were the Government essential lifeline Blue Islands flights from Southampton and London Gatwick, bringing in around 1,240 arriving passengers, a 99% decrease compared to June 2019 passenger arrivals.
  • Blue Islands re-connect Channel Islands
    Responding to the recent ‘Business Tunnels’ initiative, Blue Islands has announced the restart of its inter-island services to support businesses needing to travel between the islands.

Market Spotlights

Around seven-in-ten visitors to Jersey are from the UK and the island enjoys excellent direct access from numerous airports as well as by sea from both Portsmouth and Poole.  The UK market generates visitors for Jersey across the whole year, and offers enormous growth potential over the coming years. 

In volume terms France is our second most sizeable market, and thanks to year-round ferry links offers great potential not just during the peak summer months.  Key opportunities are to ensure day-visitors go home wanting to return for an overnight stay, and that our island product meets the needs of French visitors.

Germany is a market that is greatly valued by Jersey’s tourism industry thanks to the propensity to typically stay for an entire week and a strong spend per day profile.  During the summer months Jersey enjoys direct air access from a number of German cities, and as one of the world’s most valuable outbound source markets for international tourism growing the German market is a key priority
