Passenger arrivals increased by 3.7% compared with a year before, thanks to a hefty 23% in sea arrivals and a more modest 1% jump in air arrivals.

- Overall air accounted for 86% of all passenger arrivals in February
- Gatwick and Liverpool were the only air routes to witness strong growth, whereas Southampton, Birmingham, Exeter and East Midlands all saw declines
- Sea arrivals were up largely thanks to higher numbers from St Malo (2018 data had been adversely impacted by French strikes) and Guernsey
- Looking at the first two months of the year combined there has been a 5% increase in arrivals, brought about through a 4% rise in air and 15% jump in sea arrivals
