The Internationale Tourismus Borse (ITB) is the Leading Travel Industry Think Tank Convention.
One of the world’s largest travel and tourism exhibitions, takes place in Berlin between 06 – 10 March 2019. Over 160,000 visitors will attend this five-day exhibition, where 400 top speakers present on the latest global trends, innovation and a range of issues currently affecting the travel industry.
The event hosts 10,000 exhibitors and over 100,000 trade visitors from more than 180 countries. ITB is an annual travel industry event which provides an ideal platform for travel trade organisations to meet our Channel Island partners to discuss future initiatives, plans, opportunities and programme development. It’s also an opportunity for Visit Jersey to suggest new product itineraries, build destination awareness and develop new partnerships to grow visitor volume to the islands.
2020 will mark the 75th anniversary of Jersey’s Liberation following Occupation during WW2. Events and experiences will be organised throughout the year to celebrate this anniversary. At ITB Berlin, Visit Jersey will share suggested itineraries for tour operators to build programmes to inspire visitors to discover Jersey's Occupation story year-round. The island will reveal modern execution methods, interactive installations and media to ensure the content resonates with all, but also creates a product story and engagement piece for all generations that can remain as an accessible legacy for the island.
This year Visit Jersey and Visit Guernsey will be joined by 9 suppliers. We will welcome accommodation providers Handpicked Hotels, The Royal Yacht, Dolan Hotels, Seymour Hotels, Hotel de France, Modern Hotels, The Radisson Blu Hotel who will join Bontours and Condor Ferries.
Throughout this event the Visit Jersey team will also meet with new media contacts in the shape of bloggers and journalists as well as joining ITB’s speed dating blogger event.
The Channel Islands is also delighted to host over 50 leading tour operator and travel trade partners from Germany, the UK, Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria at our annual dinner event where new partnerships are formed, ideas are exchanged and we have the opportunity to thank our partners for their continuous support over the years.
