La Mare Wine Estate’s new pastry chef rose to the challenge at The Big Bake and ‘prooved’ he’s got what it takes to lead a team of amateur bakers to victory.
Lukasz Aniol had just 16 hours to train up the team from JT before working with them under pressure to bake the ‘best’ afternoon tea for 40 people as well as creating an epic showstopper.
Lukasz and the JT team were crowned overall winners for their Harvest Celebration and picked up first prize for the 2019 Best Creative Presentation at the competition on Sunday 20 October.
Commenting on the La Mare’s Managing Director Tim Crowley said: “We are really proud of Lukasz and the team from JT who worked so brilliantly together to create such fantastic bakes, beating off stiff competition from the other nine teams while raising money for a really worthy cause.”
The Big Bake was organised by Freedom Media to raise funds for Jersey Cheshire Home and was hosted by celebrity chef Brian Turner. The final presentations were judged by world renowned pastry chef Claire Clark.
