A new thrice-weekly summer air service between Jersey and Bournemouth is due to commence in April 2019.
The service, which is being operated by UK carrier Loganair, will fly on a Monday, Friday and Saturday. It will be served by a 37-seat Embraer 135 jet and the flight will take approximately 45 minutes.
The news has been welcomed by Myra Shacklady from Ports of Jersey who is responsible for the company’s route development programme. She says, “Over the past 18 months we have worked closely with Loganair to establish further opportunities to operate to and from the Island.
CEO for Visit Jersey, Keith Beecham, comments, “Last year over 430,000 holiday makers came to Jersey. Visit Jersey is delighted that in 2019 Jersey and Bournemouth will be linked by Loganair supported by Ports of Jersey. Tourism benefits the whole economy and it’s great to see Loganair helping us Help the World Fall in Love with Jersey.”
Fares start from £46.99 one-way and reservations can now be made via Loganair.co.uk. Loganair also plans to operate a weekly service on a Saturday between Bournemouth and Guernsey in summer 2019.
