200-day countdown to Channel Islands Pride 2023 in Jersey!

Publish date: 28 Feb 2023

The Channel Islands Pride committee and Liberate Jersey are thrilled to announce that the Channel Islands Pride 2023 celebrations will take place in just 200 days on Saturday 16th September 2023 in St Helier, Jersey. The event will kick off with the return of the much-anticipated Pride Parade, starting in Weighbridge Square and making its way through the centre of St Helier, with live music and street performers, to the Pride Village in People’s Park and Victoria Park.

Christian May, Director of Channel Islands Pride, said, “We are delighted to be announcing the date for Channel Islands Pride 2023. After a challenging year for the LGBTQ+ community globally, we can’t wait to come together once again to celebrate our diverse and vibrant Island community. The Pride Parade is always a highlight, and this year’s event romises to be bigger and better than ever before.

“Channel Islands Pride remains the only completely free festival in Jersey, thanks to the generous support of Island businesses and the Government of Jersey. We hope thatalongside our local LGBTQ+ community, their friends and allies, that Pride attracts a new audience to Jersey, and that they will recognise what makes the Island so special. We’ll be working with Visit Jersey, travel operators and hoteliers to ensure that visitors from Guernsey, the UK and further afield return home with wonderful reports of our festival, our Island and our community.”

Pride 2023 will see the introduction of a host of new features and activities, including an enhanced Pride Village with a bigger Main Stage, a new Cabaret Stage, headline UK and local acts including drag and music performers, an improved Family Fun Zone, Silent Disco Dance Tent, an Art Exhibition space, and Community and Wellbeing Zones. The committee is currently finalising details of the headline acts, and further information will be released soon.

In the lead-up to Pride day, there will be a series of pre-Pride events, including a dance party and Pride Icons night, which promises to be a fantastic celebration of LGBTQ+ icons and pioneers.

The Channel Islands Pride committee is excited to welcome everyone to join in the celebration of love, equality and diversity on Saturday 16th September 2023. We look forward to seeing you all there!
