The Atlantic Hotel Hosts Exclusive Chocolate Tasting Lunch with Xoco

Publish date: 07 Jan 2025

The Atlantic Hotel is thrilled to announce an extraordinary Chocolate Tasting Lunch, in partnership with the celebrated fine chocolate producer, Xoco. This exclusive event will take place on Saturday, 22 March 2025, at the hotel’s award-winning Ocean Restaurant. Guests will indulge in fine chocolate during an afternoon of culinary innovation and discovery.

The event will begin with a captivating presentation by Richard Ellis, Head Pastry Chef at The Atlantic Hotel, who will partner with Xoco to combine the hotel’s renowned culinary standards with Xoco’s artisanal chocolate mastery, taking diners on a journey into the heart of chocolate artistry. Attendees will gain insights into the meticulous process of crafting Xoco’s exceptional chocolate, from its careful selection of single-variety cacao to the creation of its distinctive and complex flavours.

Following the presentation, Richard will unveil a specially curated chocolate lunch, a showcase of his expertise and creativity in pairing the depth of Xoco’s chocolate with an imaginative and indulgent menu. Each course will highlight a chocolate from across Xoco’s three unique varieties, showcasing their exceptional flavour profiles and craftsmanship. To complement the meal, guests will enjoy a selection of expertly crafted cocktails, designed to elevate the occasion.

Xoco is renowned for its commitment to sustainability, quality, and innovation in the world of fine chocolate. By working directly with farmers who cultivate single-variety cacao in Central American regions, including Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua, with their chocolate factory based in Costa Rica, Xoco ensures ethical sourcing and exceptional flavour profiles. Their dedication to craftsmanship has made them a trusted name among leading pastry chefs and chocolatiers around the globe.

This collaboration underscores The Atlantic Hotel’s dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences that celebrate the finest ingredients and culinary talent. Patrick Burke, owner of The Atlantic Hotel, shares his excitement: “We are delighted to welcome Xoco to Ocean Restaurant for this one-of-a-kind event. Richard’s passion for chocolate and creativity in the kitchen will make this an unforgettable experience for our guests.”
