Channel Islands Pride announce Main Stage Headliners for 2023 event in Jersey.

Publish date: 14 Jul 2023

Channel Islands Pride is delighted to announce the Main Stage line-up for the highly anticipated Channel Islands Pride 2023 event, set to take place on Saturday 16th September at People’s Park in St Helier, Jersey. This year’s celebration promises to be an extraordinary display of unity, pride, and acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies across the Islands.

Channel Islands Pride is thrilled to reveal FIVE as the headline music act, guaranteeing an unforgettable performance for attendees. FIVE, the sensational British chart-topping band known for their hits including Keep On Movin’, If Ya Gettin’ Down, Everybody Get Up and Got The Feelin’, will grace the stage and create an electric atmosphere that will leave the audience buzzing with excitement.

In addition to the remarkable musical talent of FIVE, Channel Islands Pride proudly welcomes Tomara Thomas and Mercedes Bends as the star drag acts for the event. These dynamic performers recently captivated audiences in the 2023 Eurovision semi-final and will be supported by an exceptional line-up of drag talent including Paige Three, Flesh, and Miss Leigh Ding.

Pride is also delighted to present the talented Ellie Prohan as the headline DJ for the event. Ellie is a trendsetting DJ from Kiss FM & Kiss Fresh, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and an advocate of women, intersectionality, and marginalised communities.

In addition to the headline acts, Channel Islands Pride 2023 will feature a wide range of activities in the Pride Village, including a large Family Zone, Community and Wellbeing Zones, Bars and Food Village, and a new area to look after four-legged Pride attendees!

Throughout the day, the Jersey Electricity Main Stage (hosted by Dr Adam Perchard), new Cabaret Stage, and Silent Disco will also showcase a range of local talent including Jersey-based singers, bands and performers such as Sister Disco and SHEA.

Christian May, Director of Channel Islands Pride, expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, stating:

“We are absolutely thrilled to unveil the line-up for Channel Islands Pride 2023. This year we are focusing on showcasing exceptional musical and drag talent that embodies the spirit of Pride and champions diversity and inclusivity. We can’t wait for everyone to join us in People’s Park and be a part of this truly special celebration.

“We’re hugely grateful to all our sponsors, and particularly our Headline Sponsor Jersey Electricity, and the Government of Jersey, for allowing Pride to continue growing year-on-year to become the largest free public event in Jersey, as well as a focal point for celebrating diversity in the Channel Islands.”

Channel Islands Pride 2023 will take place on Saturday 16th September, with the Pride Parade beginning from Royal Square at 1pm, and festivities in People’s Park and Victoria Park from 2pm to 10pm, subject to the kind permission of the Bailiff.

Admission is free, and the event welcomes individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and orientations. Stay tuned for further updates and announcements by visiting www.channelislandspride.org or following @channelislandspride on all social media platforms.
