Supertri is delighted to announce that Olympic triathletes Jonathan Brownlee, Georgia Taylor Brown and Cassandre Beaugrand will be competing in Jersey this year.
On 21st September, Supertri will be making a much-anticipated return to the island for the fifth time. It first visited in 2017 for the first-ever Supertri League event but has not been back to the shores since 2021. Renowned for its dramatic coastal setting, electric atmosphere and community support, Jersey has become a standout destination on the Supertri calendar and a favourite amongst fans and its world-class triathletes.
Michael D’hulst, CEO and Co-Founder of Supertri, said: “Triathlon here is more than a race, it totally brings the island to life. With routes that embrace marina views and tight turns, Jersey is the perfect backdrop for Supertri and ideal for athletes and spectators looking for fast-paced action and a fun race atmosphere.”
Three-time Olympic medallist, Jonathan Brownlee, is likely to be the most recognised athlete competing in Supertri League Jersey, having established himself as British triathlon royalty alongside his older brother, Alistair. Jonathan achieved a bronze medal in the London 2012 Olympics, won silver in Rio 2016, and clenched the gold medal in Tokyo 2020 as part of the mixed relay team, which also included fellow Supertri competitor, Georgia Taylor Brown.
Georgia is the most decorated athlete in Supertri history and a three-time Supertri champion. Despite suffering some major injuries during her career as a triathlete, she has battled to become British Champion, World Champion, Commonwealth Champion and Olympic Champion, as part of the mixed relay team alongside Jonathan Brownlee. She also achieved a silver medal in the individual women’s triathlon at the Tokyo Olympics, despite getting a flat tyre during the race. Following her second-place finish in Chicago, Georgia shared her excitement about returning to Jersey for the next race of the season. She said: “One big reason I came back to Supertri this year – when I saw that Jersey was back on the calendar.”
Cassandre Beaugrand is the reigning Olympic champion in the women’s individual triathlon, and she became a star in France after winning gold in her hometown of Paris in 2024. She also took home bronze in the mixed relay event in Tokyo 2020 and has consistently delivered strong performances in Supertri, solidifying her status as one of the top competitors in the series.
Fans of Supertri will need to keep checking social media to find out which other world-class triathletes will be joining the three confirmed Olympians for the starting line-up of Supertri League Jersey 2025, which is sponsored by UBS Global Wealth Management. The action will begin at 2pm on Sunday 21st September,
