Patrick Burke Re-Elected to the International Advisory Board of Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Publish date: 08 Apr 2025

The Atlantic Hotel is delighted to announce that Patrick Burke, Owner and Managing Director, has been re-elected as a member of the International Advisory Board of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH). This prestigious appointment enables Patrick to continue to contribute his extensive expertise to the strategic direction of this globally recognised luxury hotel brand.

Patrick Burke’s association with SLH is both longstanding and distinguished. First elected to the International Board in 1999, he served as Chairman from 2006 to 2009 before being appointed Vice Chairman in 2013. His dedication to the organisation has led to multiple re-elections, including his most recent term commencing in March 2022, where he represents the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region.

Under Patrick’s leadership, The Atlantic Hotel became a member of SLH in 1993, marking 25 years with the organisation in 2019. The hotel remains the sole SLH member in Jersey, a testament to its commitment to delivering exceptional luxury experiences that align with SLH’s exacting standards. He has personally visited more than 300 SLH member properties worldwide, constantly refreshing his knowledge and experience of the highest international standards of hotelkeeping.

SLH is an international consortium of independently spirited hotels, each offering bespoke and authentic experiences. With over 600 members in more than 90 countries, the brand prides itself on its outstanding collection of intimate, one-of-a-kind properties designed for independently minded travellers seeking luxury and individuality.

The Atlantic Hotel is also a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s Considerate Collection, a group of luxury hotels committed to sustainability. Since joining the Considerate Collection in 2023, the hotel has been part of a community of actively sustainable luxury hotels going the extra eco mile, proving that luxury is compatible with longevity. This further recognition acknowledges The Atlantic Hotel’s dedication to sustainable practices and contribution to a more environmentally conscious hospitality industry.

Patrick Burke commented on his re-election: “I am honoured to continue to serve on the International Advisory Board of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Representing The Atlantic Hotel, Jersey and indeed the Channel Islands on this global platform is a real privilege, and I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to help navigate this iconic brand through the challenges and towards the opportunities that lie ahead.”
