Irish solo sailor Pamela Lee will sail into Jersey this week [5 September] aboard her EmpowHer Class 40, marking the start of a new partnership with DFDS as she trains for the prestigious Route du Rhum race in 2026.
Pamela has been breaking records and barriers in the male dominated sport with a clear vision for empowering women through sailing. Over the next two years, Pamela’s journey will take her across Europe, including key races around Jersey and France, highlighting the maritime connections that unite us.
Her arrival on island will kick off a series of community events, giving islanders the chance to meet Pamela, learn about her journey, and take part in activities designed to inspire the next generation of sailors.
