This dashboard presents estimates of visitor statistics from the Visitor Volume Survey (VVS), part of the Jersey Exit Surveys – a comprehensive research programme that provides robust data on the volume, characteristics, and experiences of visitors to Jersey.
Modelled on the UK Office for National Statistics’ International Passenger Survey (IPS), the VVS is tailored to Jersey’s unique transport and visitor landscape. It is based on interviews with passengers departing Jersey by air or sea and is weighted to total passenger volumes provided by Ports of Jersey.
Please note: For the best user experience, we recommend viewing this data dashboard on a desktop or laptop device. While it is accessible on mobile, certain features and visual elements are best displayed on larger screens.
What’s the Difference Between Passengers and Visitors?
- A passenger is anyone departing Jersey, including both residents and non-residents.
- A visitor is someone who lives outside Jersey and is in the island for leisure, business, visiting friends and family or other temporary purposes. Most of the data in this dashboard focuses on visitors. One chart includes estimates for total passengers, broken down by type, but this is not filterable by anything other than the date range.
- Top-Level Scorecards
- The five scorecards at the top show the latest year-to-date figures for visitors and passengers (note, average length of stay is for overnight visitors only).
- These headline figures are not affected by the filters below.
