Jersey received an estimated 14,800 visits in February 2026, 4,500 fewer than in February 2025 (-23%).

This included:

  • Overnight stays: 13,900 (-2,500)
  • Day visits: 900 (-1,900)

By travel type:

  • By air: 13,100 (-2,600)
  • By sea: 1,700 (-1,800)

 

Year-to-date to February 2026

An estimated 30,000 visits to Jersey were made in the year to February 2026, 3,700 fewer than in 2025 (-11%).

This included:

  • Overnight stays: 28,000 (-5% or -1,400)
  • Day visits: 1,900 (-54% or -2,300)

By travel type:

  • By air: 26,900 (-6% or -1,800)
  • By sea: 3,100 (-38% or -1,900)

By purpose of visit:

  • Leisure: 7,700 (-24% or -2,400)
  • Visiting friends/relatives: 11,500 (+1% or +100)
  • Business: 8,400 (+0% or +0)
  • Other: 2,400 (-36% or -1,300)

By country of residence:

  • United Kingdom: 23,800 (-7% or -1,700)
  • France: 2,100 (-34% or -1,000)
  • Other Channel Islands: 2,500 (-14% or -400)

An estimated 49,000 passengers departed Jersey in February 2026, 1,300 fewer than in February 2025. Passengers include residents travelling.

Visitors made up 30% of departing passengers in February 2026.

 

Year-to-date to February 2026

In the year to February 2026, there were an estimated 90,900 departing passengers from Jersey, unchanged from 2025.

Visitors made up 33% of departing passengers year to date to February.

 

About the Visitor Volume Survey

The Visitor Volume Survey collects data from departing passengers to estimate total visits, trip purpose, visitor origin, and bed nights.

Key points:

  • Conducted monthly at ports and airport departures
  • Results weighted to match actual passenger volumes
  • Visitor figures exclude returning residents
  • Research ceased in March 2020 due to the pandemic and restarted in 2022
  • Subject to revision as more data becomes available
  • Survey estimates are derived from sample data and include a margin of error due to sampling variability
