Eat Jersey 2023 raises more than £11,000 in aid of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust

Publish date: 06 Jun 2023

The Atlantic Hotel is delighted to announce that this year’s Eat Jersey Food Festival raised £11,554.75 in aid of Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.

The prestigious festival was held in March 2023 and was headlined by world renowned 2 Michelin star chef, Michel Roux Jr. This mean that since the inception of Eat Jersey in 2015, The Atlantic has raised more than £40,000 in support of this incredible charity.

Headquartered at Jersey Zoo, Durrell focuses on the most threatened species in the most threatened places. Established by author and conservationist Gerald Durrell in 1959, Durrell’s overall aim is for more diverse, beautiful, and resilient natural landscapes in which species can thrive, and people can enjoy a deeper connection with nature. Its approach concentrates on the rewilding of animals, the rewilding of ecosystems and the rewilding of people.

Patrick Burke, Owner and Managing Director of The Atlantic Hotel, said:

“We are thrilled to have been able to raise such an amazing amount of money for Durrell this year. The online auction which ran throughout the festival attracted very generous bids from our guests with some fantastic lots kindly donated by our partners and visiting chefs.”

Durrell is a charity that is very close to our hearts and we are pleased to support them both through Eat Jersey annually, and on an ongoing basis as our philanthropic partner.

Eat Jersey will return in March 2024, again uniting a prestigious line up of chefs to celebrate the finest Jersey produce and to support Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
