CI Travelmaker named as one of the best travel agencies in the British Isles

The Channel Islands Travelmaker has been named as one of the top travel agencies in the UK and Ireland by the Travel Trade Gazette for the fifth consecutive year.

CI Travelmaker fought off over 500 travel agencies from across the UK to become runners up in the National Touring Award. The Guernsey Travelmaker team were shortlisted for Best in the South West and as one of the top 50 travel agencies in the UK.

Each finalist was interviewed by the Travel Trade Gazette at the start of the year to assess their customer service, expertise, business performance, and efforts to give back to the local community. In previous years, a prestigious awards event takes place in the UK to announce the winners, but due to the coronavirus pandemic the annual event was cancelled.

Carl Winn, head of Travelmaker, said: “We are delighted to once again be recognised as one of the top travel agencies in the UK by the Travel Trade Gazette. We have been recognised every year since the awards were started five years ago and that is a real credit to the team and their hard work, expertise and fantastic customer service.”

The Travel Trade Gazette is the UK and Ireland’s leading travel industry magazine, published weekly since 1953.

TTG group editor, Pippa Jacks, said: “Now in its fifth year, our TTG Top 50 Travel Agencies initiative sees us scour the UK and Ireland to find the hardest-working, most committed and most successful travel agency businesses in the land.

“The travel industry is currently facing a monumental challenge, but the coronavirus crisis has created an opportunity for the nation’s best travel agencies - those that offer their customers extraordinary service, expertise and support their local communities – to shine.

‘Each agency that earned a place in our Top 50 list this year worked hard to impress our judges and should feel incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”

CI Travelmaker has had to make a number of changes during the coronavirus pandemic but have remained open, with a closed-door policy. The teams are taking bookings for later this year and next year, with some holiday sales now on early sale for 2022 with selected tour operators. The teams can be contacted on 01534 784300 in Jersey and 01481 201250 in Guernsey.
