DFDS has agreed improved schedules with St Malo Port Authorities, allowing up to six hours in France for day-trippers from Jersey, while also providing more convenient timings for French visitors travelling to Jersey.
Islanders can enjoy more than double the number of day-trip opportunities this summer compared with 2025. There are 90 days between May and September offering over five hours in St Malo, compared with 37 last year. In addition, most day-trip fares to France include the flexibility to stay overnight and return the following day at no extra cost, offering greater choice and value for passengers.
Several vessels are returning to operation this week, strengthening both passenger and freight capacity:
• The Tarifa Jet has returned to the island and resumes St Malo services today (1st May).
• The Levante Jet has returned to Poole sailings for the launch of the summer passenger service, with its first sailing scheduled for Friday (1st May).
• The Caesarea Trader has also returned to the island and resumed freight operations from today.
These developments, alongside strong booking demand, mark an important step in enhancing capacity and flexibility across DFDS’s network ahead of Jersey’s peak travel season. Summer volumes are currently ahead of forecast, with strong year-on-year growth in travel on Jersey’s UK and France routes.
DFDS remains focused on delivering reliable, high-quality connectivity for both passengers and freight. The combination of increased vessel availability and improved timetables will provide customers with greater choice and convenience when travelling between Jersey, the UK and France.
DFDS teams will continue to keep customers informed through direct communications and marketing channels as these enhanced services come into effect.
