The Eat Jersey Food Festival 2023 is set to be one of the most exciting events in the foodie calendar with renowned chefs from around the UK heading to The Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant in Jersey for four days of gourmet dining.
As preparations pick up pace, The Atlantic is delighted to announce that yet another award winning chef has been added to the line up. Russell Plowman is senior sous chef at the 2 Michelin Star Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, based at the world famous Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland, and recently crowned the UK’s best restaurant in Harden’s Top 100 Best UK Restaurants diners poll.
Russell will be joining four other outstanding chefs to create a spectacular five course banquet on the opening night of the festival. Hailed as the Famous Five dinner, each of the chefs has been part of Executive Chef Will Holland’s brigade at one time or another and has gone on to be a famous chef in their own right.
After beginning his career at country house hotels in Surrey and Sussex, Russell went on to spend three years at 3 Michelin Star The Waterside Inn in Bray before moving to L’Ortolan Restaurant in Reading where he worked alongside Will Holland. More recently he held the position of head chef at the Gilpin Hotel near Windermere before taking up his current role at Restaurant Andrew Fairlie.
Executive Chef Will Holland said: “We’re very excited to have Russell on board for Eat Jersey. The festival is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet and to open with such a stellar line up of chefs is very special. The Famous Five dinner promises to be a unique blend of individual styles and dishes, all using the very best Jersey produce, combining to be a spectacular five course dining experience. For me personally, it will be a very special moment in the kitchen and one that I am sure I will never forget.”
Owner and Managing Director Patrick Burke said: “Russell comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge and is another fantastic talent who we are delighted to have join the festival. It’s particularly meaningful as the late, great Andrew Fairlie was one of our first guest chefs at Eat Jersey in 2016 when the festival was in its second year. The next couple of months will be all hands on deck as we complete the final preparations and bring the many moving parts of the festival together to create a very exciting event.”
The Eat Jersey Food Festival takes place from 23rd to 26th March 2023.
