Summary – Q2 2026 and year-to-date

Total visitor spend in Q2 2026 was £77.2m, -5% on Q2 2025 in nominal terms, with visitors -2%. Year-to-date to June, total visitor spend was £98.4m, -4% vs 2025, with visitors -2%. The decrease was driven by the UK market, -10% year-to-date to June, due to a drop in average spend per overnight visitor, -9%. This aligns with decreases seen in UK consumer spend on travel in Q2 (Barclays), and falls in consumer confidence over the same period (GfK).

Average spend per overnight visitor was £589 in Q2, -5%, and £533 year-to-date, also -5%. Average spend per visitor night was £139 in Q2, -6%, and £131 year-to-date, -5%.

NPS among leisure visitors rose to 70 in Q2 2026 (50+ is considered excellent), up from 67 in Q2 2025, and stood at 70.4 year-to-date, up from 69.7. 74% of leisure visitors rated their experience 9 or 10 out of 10 in Q2, broadly unchanged from 74% a year earlier, with the year-to-date figure at 75%, aligning with 2025.

47% of visitors were on their first visit to Jersey in Q2, down from 48% in Q2 2025, and the year-to-date share was 46%, down from 47%.

Total visitor spend was £77.2m in Q2 2026, -5% on Q2 2025, and £98.4m year-to-date to June, -4% on the same period last year. Of this, £61.8m came from air visitors and £14.4m from sea visitors in Q2, with £80.8m and £16.4m respectively year-to-date. By country, the UK accounted for £57.9m of Q2 spend and France £4.1m, with £75.7m and £5.1m respectively year-to-date.

74% of leisure visitors rated their experience 9 or 10 out of 10 in Q2, broadly unchanged from 74% a year earlier, and 75% year-to-date, down slightly from 75.2%.

NPS is calculated by subtracting the proportion of detractors (those scoring 6 or below) from the proportion of promoters (those scoring 9 or 10), based on how likely visitors say they are to recommend Jersey on a scale of 0 to 10. Scores range from -100 to 100. It is calculated from leisure visitors only.

First Time Visit

47% of visitors to Jersey in Q2 2026 were on their first visit, down from 48% in Q2 2025. Year-to-date to June, the first-time visitor share was 46%, down from 47%.

About the Visitor Experience Survey

The Visitor Experience Survey is conducted quarterly by Tourism South East on behalf of Visit Jersey. Interviews are carried out with departing visitors at Jersey Airport and Elizabeth Harbour. The survey collects data on visitor spend, purpose of visit, satisfaction ratings, and likelihood to recommend Jersey. Net Promoter Score is based on leisure visitors only.

Results are estimates based on a representative sample and are subject to revision as more data becomes available. Figures are rounded to reflect the inherent uncertainty in sample-based estimates.
