Tourism is one of Jersey’s few indigenous industries, it is part of the island’s “DNA,” an export industry, and a key driver of building our reputation around the world. It is a success story. The evidence shows that since the founding of Visit Jersey and until the pandemic, the underlying inbound tourism trend had reversed previous declines in both visitor numbers and spend to the end of 2019. A vibrant visitor economy delivers benefits that go far beyond the purely economic.
Generating £280m of spend on island in 2019. Supporting hundreds of businesses. Making up 8.8% of the island’s GVA. Jersey’s tourism sector provides essential connectivity to our wider community and enhances quality of life for all.
